She must have a pile of little dents from the hail. The paintless dent repair guys cant fix thick sheetmetal like on these cars..sooo it would cost a bucketload to repair- more than the car is worth. Too bad, as it would be a good driver.

Sometimes by selling it to the insurance, what he was offered you do it to get more money... And besides, who knows besides him what is under that paint!!! Although it looks good...

Heard of "Jewish" lightning??? Same thing! I have heard of lots of people here that do it... Motor piles, drag it to a field, set it alight and claim it was stolen... Absolutely 100% criminal, but they get away with it...

I am 99% sure I know this car. Assuming it's the one, this is the scoop-

I believe it was bought new in this area, possibly from our dealership. The owner was a local pastor. He drove the car many years (likely the mileage shown is 100,000 under actual) and then parked it for a long time. About 12-15 years ago there was a wave of old car and tractor resto's that went through this area. Pastor dragged the car out of the yard, had it restored and showed it a few times before he passed away. Son inherited the car, has no interest in it. Son calls me up a few years ago ( he lives very close by) and asks me what the car is worth because he is donating it to Teen Challenge for a tax receipt.

That was the last I heard of the car.

Neat old car but nothing special. Pics of it still look nice though.

At least this one is labeled collector so it won't be scrapped like all other 95 and other write offs in Manitoba.

Looks nice in the pics (they always do).  Just curious as to the actual level of damage on it and wondering how much of it could be dealt with using the "ice cube and hair dryer" method.  Never tried it personally, but have heard that it works for "some" hail damage.

Might be worth picking up and using for a weekend driver/ice cream car if it were cheap enough (I'd be ditching the wheels though, as they don't "look right" to me).

Wonder what a person could get it for....

By coincidence, the son who donated it just called me for parts so I asked if he knew it was up for sale this week. He is not a car guy, had no idea, has no interest in having it back.
