Can the hardner loose it's "punch" I glassed the trans hump I'm fabricating for the 52. dumped quite a bit of hardner in the resin BUT it's taking forever for it to cure. Some spots have cured hard & otherspots are still tacky. Even put a heat lamp on it for an hour. Now its sitting in the air flow from furnace in garage over night.

Well seeing as I used to make this stuff I guess I should put in my 2 cents. With certin spots hardening and others not it is a mixing issue. When mixing if you are using a blue multi purpose resin it will turn brown in the cup. Another thing I noticed is you mention you dumped in quite a bit. Thats not always good. Fiberglass resin is best mixed at 2% hardner and will have a kick off time of approx 14-17 mins at 70 degreesF. If it is still wet or tacky in the morning you can mix a little more and just go over the stuff you have done already and it will help activate the layer you have on already. It will take some time to cure still but will speed up the process Hope this info might help you out

Thanks Marty, just went out & checked it, still "tacky" in a few spots 7:00 am I thought I'd put enough in it but "maybe" not enough for the amount I mixed. The last time I did "glass" work it activated "TOO" quick on me. Guess if you do enough you get the "hang" of it!!! I'll put another coat on it .

Went over it again with another "batch" of glass. This time it cured quickly. Heres some pics of what I fab'd, once the carpet goes in think it will do the job.

Looks great! just hope the first layer was at least gelled with no soft areas....
It had pretty well cured & I helped it along w/some heat!!! 2nd. batch "stiffened" up quick. It made a "BIG" difference in the noise on a quick trip up the street & back. Next on the "list" is to bolt the seats in.
