Rat Boy say "yes of course", did anybody really think this was anything but a 6 cylinder strippo converted to a big block 4 speed beast. Praise the surviving 6 cyl. cheapo post cars, otherwise we'd have no big block beastly posts.

3963512 Block used late 69 as 427 and 70-71 as 454 .
Date code L 1 9 -L December . 1-1st . 9- 1969 .
U- Lordstown Ohio assembly plant where they assembled full size Chevys
174054 Sequential number of car built .
The engine was cast on December 1st 1969 and stamped on the front pad 2 days later,December 3rd 1969 , when placed in the car . Sales for the 70s were started in September 1969 which explains the 1969 date cast into the block . So it is a 1970 454-345 HP with TURBO 400 trans.
the block may have a 427 crank stuffed in it.
I lucked out buying a 454 form a guy like that , he sold it to me as a 454, because that was what the casting # told us it was. turned out to have been internally a 427 !!!
my nit pick,, I have not pullled too many bellhousings off where GM used lock washers on the bolts??
