Sorry guys I completely missed this thread until now. If yo like I can take some pics of the underside of my AC dash pad so you can see what it looks like.
I recently had it recovered by just dashes in the states so it may not be that easy to see the internals.
Sorry for delay on this. I kind of forgot about it for a while.
It is a metal stamping that was covered in vinyl.
This is after work was done on it by Just Dashes. It was badly cracked originally. I couldn't save or find another plastic speaker grille of that shape so I had them cover it over. Not sure if that was a good idea.
(should really move this to the 65-70 interior forum though)

Re the gurney i picked it up at a surplus sale last summer for 10.00. Makes an awesome lounger (once I wiped off the body fluids from it, heh heh) and I'm finding it makes a really good adjustable height work bench for delicate stuff too!
Call me a hillbilly!

Yeah it was a plastic grate with a weird reverse curve that went partways up into the AC vent. Mine fell apart when I tried to take it out very carefully. The sun had wrecked it. I sent it to to the guys but they couldnt do anything with it either.
Not sure how easy it would be to actually find a good one. not easy methinks so i took the easy way out.
I will see if I have any pictures of it somewhere.
......Carl may be able to help with the grill, he might get that dash pad up top for me one day and I thought he said there was more than one a/c car there so maybe if not facing the south or west then the grill didn't get cooked in the sun.
I hope to be there in the next month or so. I will likely grab whatever is there as long as it's not totally rusted away. The windshield is still in the car, and the car is facing west. Not sure what to expect.
