Machine shop recomendations in Winnipeg Area

Just about to start a restoration on a 71 Lemans convertable 400ci, I am starting with the engine rebuild. Any recomendations for a good machine shop in southern Manitoba? Or any places to avoid. It has been about 10 years since the last project and that was a Eagle Talon , so your collective experiance would be a big help.

A good idea except I have the correct block ,heads, intake and carb, so a rebuild is in order. Plus the assembly and first start up is to much fun to miss out on.

Make sure they do know American Pontiac engines build up are different than small block chevy, like for example the heads intake valves are 30 degree angled not 45 ...

Canadian 350 or Pontiac 350 Engine?  As like said there are some differences when doing the rebuild and some engine rebuilders will do things the good ole Chevy way and while it may work on the Pontiac engines it will not perform nor work to its max. performance..

Make sure you take pictures of your parts with casting and code numbers so you get yours back.. Specially if your wanting to keep her numbers matching.

The oil gallery plugs in the back should be tapped also... And the hidden plug in the distributer hole should have the hole in it so it oils up the distributer gear a bit more :>)   .. Do not let them put Chevy lifters in there.. get Pontiac ones... They will tell you they are the same but they are different....
