55 Laurentian rust spots?

I'm looking at a 55 Laurentian & was wondering where the typical spots to look for rust are? (underneath)  Bodymounts...frame...?

Are the floor pans available in the Cross Canada catalog?

Is the windshield the same as Chev & other GM's of that year & body style?

The rust spots are the same as the 55 Chev . Floor pans are available from Cross Canada and are the same ones you would buy from CARS in Michigian as they use Cross Canada as one of their suppliers. I used the floor pans rockers and quarter panel patches and they are OK.

Way up high inside the rear wheel tubs,  check the trunk and inside the rear tubs too.

Also the roof drip rails on both sides above the doors.

Those are the 2 really nasty areas on 5-6-7's that are getting to be comon place with these cars

I figured the "chinese" sheet metal would interchange....

Do the frames on these years have any common weak/rust prone areas?

Who is the best reproduction parts company for trim/interior,mechanical,etc.?

Thanks

I have never found any source for new reproduction trim/interior parts. Only eBay. Except body gaskets, rubber, etc. are same as Chevy and readily available reproduction.

Mechanical is all 55-57 Chevy, parts suppliers galore, here are ones I have used:

http://www.classicchevy.com/

http://stores.ebay.com/MUTTON-HOLLOW-CHEVYS

http://stores.ebay.com/MAINLY-CHEVROLET

I don't have a good source for rebuilder engine parts since I sold my 261 and my 496 is pure hot rod parts except the block.

Rear end parts are easy to find, same as Chevy. Brand new posi units are availabe in any gear ratio.

Oh, btw, I am no expert on rust, my Canadian Pontiac spent most of its life in California, and is pretty rust free, frame especially. So I can't help there.
