1975 Firebird Esprit. Factory 4 speed car.

The Firebird is officially up for sale. I likely won't list it on Kijiji for a couple of weeks.

This Esprit is one of 106 sold in Canada with the 4 speed transmission and one of 458 with the 350/4bbl engine. It's also one of 124 with the rear spoiler. This Firebird runs and drives very well. It's not a rattle box like many F-bodies from the era. The body is very straight and this is overall a very solid car. It had one repaint several years ago and still shows well. I guess we could call the hood bird a "day two" item as the original owner had it installed when he bought the car. It was also reinstalled after paint. Options include the Formula steering wheel, Rally guages, 8 track player (not currently hooked up), Rally II wheels etc. I have the GM docs as well as the original bill of sale. Lots of original documentation is included with the car including a thank you card from the original salesman. Sold new at Forbes in Waterloo. The dual exhaust (with performance cats) was installed in the early 90's and sounds great.  I have a new carpet yet to be installed although the original still is very presentible. I've only found one other 4 speed 75 Esprit online and it's in Texas. New timing chain and gears, master cylinder and booster, distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires. All hoses replaced. Has Alpine deck with Pioneer 6 pack CD changer in trunk. The engine had a mild cam installed in the 1970s and this 350 runs much stronger than it should.

I'm asking $11900 however I am negotiable, especially to a fellow CP'er

Proceeds from the sale are going towards paying for my son's university.

(No more old cars for a while)

PM me if interested. I can provide more photos and details to those who are seriously interested.

Thanks

No interest. One fellow from Montreal asked for more photos. The market is dead. Not even a lowball offer! biggrin

It really is a soft market right now. Great time to be a buyer, no fun selling!

I've seen this car up close and it is in very nice shape, so when someone serious does show up, they should be happy with what they see

...nice car Todd. I had a new '75 Camaro 350/4 spd. back then and the Chevy 350 was only rated at about 150 hp. But I see you have the PMD engine. What was the orig. hp rating for that engine? And I guess with the cam it's been improved upon a bit...very nice car and good luck with the sale. That's a very generous thing you're doing for your son and I'm sure he appreciates it. When he gets his degree and makes tons of money he can buy you another Poncho toy as a thank you...!

I believe the 350 4bbl Pontiac engine was rated at net 165hp in 1975.

Todd, my friend Murray, finally sold his 66 Le Mans 4spd convertable!! Took him a yr. to sell it & said he "took a bath" on it!!! If he hadn't had a "bum" knee & could drive it with out a lot of pain, he wouldn't have had to sell it. Your right on the market,it's in the "TANK" right now. You just have to wait for the right buyer, & hope they have the $$$ & put up with all the FLAKES that say they will show up but never do???

As we are looking for an additional vehicle I have noticed that used car prices are generally on the overpriced side for the quality offered and sellers unwilling to negotiate. It is very frustrating for those wanting to buy.

I've run into the same problem in regards to an engine that a guy just down the road from me has had listed since 2009.

It's been on  KiJiJi at the same overpriced price from the get go. He actually got upset with me (very upset) when I asked him what is the least he would take for it, and I didn't even try to beat him down or chisel him. I didn't even mention that it's been listed for a couple years!no

Some sellers have a price in their head for some reason ... because they bought high, because they still live in 2007, because of Barrett Jacksonitus, because of a appraisal price ... who knows?

Please (sellers) don't take any offence to any of my comments ... just my thoughts.

I'm going to try carsonline.com in the next month or so if it hasn't sold locally.

I was talking about late model cars Todd, not classic cars like yours. No critisism intended. People and dealers trying to get the same for a 200,000 km car as a 60,000 km here in Toronto. Jeeps priced more than Cacillacs priced less than Monte Carlos, Jeff Gordon 2003 Monte Carlos asking as high as $18,000 confuse
