I lost the voltage for the instrument cluster lights, ashtray lights, dome light, tail lights and brake lights. What happened was that I accidentally shorted the 12v side of the glove box switch to the dash, and the lights went out. The rear turn signals do work as does the cigarette lighter. There is no problem with the headlights or front parking/turn signal lights. I didn't see anything else not working
I checked the 3 amp fuse for the dash lights and the 10 amp fuse for the brake lights - these were good and both were checked with an ohmmeter not visually.
With a voltmeter, I cannot find 12volts on either side of the 2 fuses. The voltage should be at these fuses all the time. The other fuses are fine, I measure voltage on both sides of each of those fuses when I turn on the starter key to Accessory or Ignition.
I have been referencing the service manuals, but I'm at a loss to find the problem. I really could use some advice or another pair of eyes to sort this out. I would appreciate any help if one of the Winnipeg area gang could take a look.

The headlights are fused by a built in circuit breaker in the headlight switch. The rest that you are talking about are usually on one fuse in the fuse box.......Those fuse boxes are pretty hokey...You may have to split it at the firewall and clean the contacts in there.....

Thanks, I read that in the service manual. After seeing no voltage on either side of the fuse holders, I also thought that something came apart inside. But, I don't want to crack it open without a backup plan, in case it doesn't come back together.
Thanks to Dualquadpete and Poncho62 for the advice. There was indeed corrosion on the 10amp fuse and causing erroneous readings at the 3amp fuse. I polished the fuse clips with 1000 grit paper, and replaced the fuses. The lights are working, but I am going to have watch this for a bit.
