Heading to West Virginia "AGAIN" for the Doo Wop show in Charleston next week. Have registered the 52 & I'am # 236 of 800+ pre registered so far!!! I'm going on my own this trip, Janice can't go & travell buddy hasn't been in touch with me since May [new girl friend & I've written him off] so I'm going to "trailer" it down, [no trailer "queen' comments] as It only has 900 miles on it & figure this will be the safe way to go as "Burb" has the OnStar, & phone in it!! Will likely get there on less fuel & stops as the 52 only has a 12 gal tank!! "Burb" has a 31 Gal tank & will likely get 16+ mpg towing!!! Show commitee is trying to get 3 more blocks from city & hit the 1150 to 1200 vehicles, if not after 982 they will be turning them away!!! I have booked a hotel just outside of Pittsburg for Sun. night, used to drive it it all in one day but getting smarter with age!!! Show starts Wed. night at a casino with a $1000 draw for pre reg. cars at cruise in there on Wed. then the downtown show starts Thurs till Sat. night with HUGE fireworks show at end of awards Sat. Have car loaded & waiting for Sun. My car club has it's fall run planned for tomorrow, so the 64 2+2 will get a "leg" stretch up to Algonquin Park & back
Have a happy and safe trip down to Virginia. I envy you in a way as I'd rather be travelling down the highway in my 72 Malibu then be at work right now. Love being on the open road, with the radio or Ipod playing great music as the scenery goes rolling by.
Really enjoyed my time on the open road in August travelling across Canada and back. I hope your trip goes well, you meet some great folks and have a lot of good stories to tell when you get back.
Enjoy the open road.

Have a good trip there Pete. I won't bug you too much on you trailering it there. You will enjoy looking in the rear view mirror and seeing what is following you. Have a great trailer queen story from this summer in Red Deer. Two acquaintances of mine from Kelowna with a couple high end cars had trailered them to Red Deer. I was parked a few minutes before they arrived so went over and chatted and asked how their trip had been. Oh it was pretty good but it got pretty scary when Ralph lost one of his wheels off of his trailer. I must say I had a good chuckle later thinking about it. I take my chances driving. A little over 16000 miles now and just one freak incident to slow me down.
Left Sun. morning & made it to Grove City PA. on 3/4 tank of gas in the "burb" pulling the 52. Dash comp. said 15.9 MPG in US gal [as this is a US vehicle] Thats not bad hauling that weight!!1 Left the Hotel at 6:45 & rolled in here at St Albans W.V at 11:30 this morning. Took Rusty for a ride in the Poncho & "blew out the right side header flange gasket" Off the Advance Auto Parts, let the engine cool down in Rusty's garage & replaced it. All IS WELL!!! & not noisey Show starts Wed. night at the Casino Cruise then back to Charleston for the Thurs kick off!!!

Wow, nice lookin' 52! Go get 'em and don't forget to tell them about your winter 'igloo' garage. They will assume it's to keep the bears away from your ride.
