my tranny apart

well after my fun trip to Snahomish WA (just east of Seattle)

tranny started to slip over the mountains between Belligham and Mt Vernon, managed

to limp into a shell station and added 2 quarts of fluid that got me to the show and just back to Mt Vernon (100 mile return)

then 2 quarts got me home

front seal had let go, it was the original for 63!!

so i said tear it right down, reverse plates were good, faroward were shot. torque converter needs rebuilding

so now when it is done it should be good for another 50 years !!

What brand of synthetic trans fluid did you use? I ran Royal Purple in my daily driver Buick Park Ave. I had as scan gauge attached and my transmission temp was 50 degrees cooler with this fluid.

Mainland Transmission on Scott Rd. Guys name is Norm Rajotte. met him at the Lordco Show, he owns a early corvette.
what's a stall ??
only thing i have to do is lengthen my kick-down rod by 1/4 "
should be easy cause it has a very big bend in it..

Did you add another gear or two while you had it out?
