66 Beaumont reverse light housing update

So I've Got a pretty decent housing now, and believe it or not, I got the studs out!!!  They are a pretty funky

looking stud too.

i hope to do some body work on it and the mould it in the next couple weeks.

also there is a photo of a GTO light and Beaumont beside each other

newest update on the ONE that I'm restoring to mold.

starting the body work on it this weekend... hopefully..

blasted it today to get most of the chrome off.. really exposed the cracking in them.. also the "nutserts" inside the housing for the lens screws

Nice work Kelico. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I always wnoder where the original moulds went for these things. I always imagine them sitting on a shelf in a dark corner of a warehouse collecting dust.

Did GM cast these themselves back n the 60's? Or did they sub the lenses/trim pieces out?

you know.. I looked into that exact thing and I had missed the boat by about 3 years on getting the information on who did the castings for gm Canada. I was told that ALL that microfiche information was sent to GM USA.. so.. you can almost guarantee that its no longer in existence.
Maybe someone back east was around to tell about who did the work..

hopeful

I have seemed to have misplaced mine, and the car is finished and on the road with holes in the bumper.

I would like to find some replacements soon.

Any update?

Hi guys.. sorry for the lack of interest these days. been working a ton and being dad takes up most of the rest of the time.
I have some housings that might be OK for you if you'd like I can send one out to you and you can decide if you like or not.
send me a PM and your address etc..
I haven't even looked at them for months.. but I do know I have about 4 cast that look ok.. but I don't have wires and sockets etc..
was part of the never ending search for correct stuff.

Kelly

Wow if you were doing work to your car you should have those lights stored in a vault.  Tough to replace.
