Beaumonts were built in Chile until 1971 or 1972. They were based on the 1968 or 1969 body and were badged as Beaumont GTAs. There area couple members here from Chile. Idon't know if they are still active.

Ha, ha. I always have to laugh when this topic comes up. These posts always garner a whole bunch of replies. This has been going on for how many years now on this site? Always with the same conclusions.
I'm just glad I own a Pontiac.

Do you have your documents from General Motors Vintage Vehicle Services ? That is the one and only official source of reliable information from the manufacturer of your car. Everyone on this forum swears by these documents as the absolutely best way to document your car and is so appreciative that this Canadian only service exists.
I have searched and searched and NOWHERE on our 67 Beaumont is the mention
of Pontiac...........even tho my GM Documents from George Soporo say Pontiac Beaumont, but that I'm sure is
a product of everyone calling them Pontiac Beaumonts, not factual information.
If GM had intended it to be a Pontiac it would say Pontiac, just like Chevrolet says Chevrolet, etc

I just want to let you know Robin (1964_SD) that in the past that discussion on this topic has lead to personal attacks, name calling etc on Canadian Poncho. The topic has been hashed to death here with no resolution and there never will be agreement on it. We will consider the discussion on this to be ended with no further posts on it.
Thanks.

What about the Plymouth Valiant being called a Chrysler Valiant in Canada in the early 60s? I think the Beaumont was proudly a Canadian car and was highlighted as such. They were sold as a cost-effective equivalent to the Tempest / Lemans / GTO.
How does the MOT classify them when the Acadian name dropped off the radar? "Everyone knows they are Pontiacs." No resolution for this one....
