I'm helping to research 73-77 A-body (LeMans, Grand Am) production numbers. We are trying break it down by model, engine and transmission (if possible). Got info from PHS and GM Heritage Center.
For example, the rarest found so far is 1974 D29 LeMans 4 dr 455 with just 5 made. In general, 455 cars are pretty rare in the LeMans line, but sold fairly well in the last year, 1976.
Problem is, the information sources don't say much about Canadian production especially those equipped with Chevy V-8s. This raises a few questions. Perhaps the experts here can enlighten us.
Did the PHS production totals include all Oshawa production, especially the Chevy engine versions?
Are there any breakdowns of Oshawa production?
The 1973 literature posted on this site lists a 454 Chevy being available with the 1973 2 dr LeMans. Did this combo really exist?
