how much work to put in a 454 in a 1975 lemans

Pretty darn easy......Most of the small block parts you mention work fine, just a few specific things you will need. Engine mounts = Same, Power Steering = Same but you'll need to sort out brackets, Fan Shroud = same. You'll need a new or recored rad, oil pan, flex plate headers/manifolds are all big block specific. Just use 454 Chevelle parts.

Check out this thread, CLICK HERE and ask me anything you need to know.

Just read my swap thread, it is very straightforward to do, just make sure you get the right oil pan and Flexplate. You may also need to get different power steering brackets, that was actually the hardest thing to sort out. As I said ask me any questions that come up.

Get as much out of the Chevelle as possible especially brackets for power steering, keep engine mounts from Chevelle and all rad and heater hoses for reference. If you have exhaust manifolds that would  be a plus if you are not doing headers,.

Well, technically, work = force times distance. So, assuming the big block, all dressed is 600 lbs and assuming you'd have to lift it 4 feet, Work would be 4*600=2400 ft-lbs.

Sorry. Couldn't resist.
