Torque straps 66 canso

Was down in my crawl space and saw the torque straps that were on my car when I got it,just wondering if these were put on by someone or factory?Should I put them back on the car? ( Just thinking ahead ).

The engine cables?

If so, a dealer put them on to satisfy one of the biggest recalls GM ever had, at least in those years. Pretty cool stuff, I'd save them and use them if I were you.

I just googled it, the page I saw says it's the 3rd largest auto recall in history, 6.7 million cars.

Still see those cable kits on cars in wrecking yards but it's pretty rare to see a V8 Acadian or Nova in a yard.

If I remember right, they are not the same side to side. Check if the brackets and cables are identical or not.

I think the one in the foreground would be the left side. That long gray bracket with the two bolt holes would line up with the alternator bracket I believe.

Did they come on the cars old ? Nothing like getting a new car with old parts ! I would hang on wall but looks like they take a 3/8 bolt and my house is built out of toothpicks.
