I need to replace my door panels in my 66. I've currently got 66' Nova panels in there, and before I replace with them again, I was wondering if getting a hold of 66 'Acadian somewhere was an option. Looking for brand new.
Spoke to the guys at SMS Autofabrics today. They have done 2 sets for the 66 Acadian in the past. Sent me some images of what they look like, etc...
$695.00 for all 4, gonna have to think about that, as stated earlier, if money is no object.... A set of Nova panels, less than $250.00 for all 4. If I do go with these and have them
made in black, anyone have the original Canso emblem for the front panels? Also anyone have any picks of what they should look like in black?
As far as I know the 66 had no emblems on the door panel only the 67 and the 66 is a totally different pattern than the 67. I have original panels for my 66 with no emblem.I hope the pattern they showed you was for 66 ?

They seemed very helpful.
Thanks
Tony
Glad they got back to you
$695.00 is cheap to prevent "so called friends" yipping about whats original or not....
If car is to be a trailer queen then you better make sure EVERY item is perfect... and don't ask "how much"
Far from a trailer queen.... if they make them for me, they'll be black. I noticed all of the samples show a two tone to the door panels, with black that wouldn't be an option, it would be black throughout. Any idea if black panels were ever originally on a 66' Acadian.
The guys from SMS were great in responding, etc... they showed me what the panels should look like from a set of old ones in a pic as well as the original brochure but not their actual finished product. Anyone vouch for the workmanship?
I've heard that SMS is probably the best anywhere at reproducing door panels.
But be prepared to wait a long time to see the end result.
Ditto. A friend of mine here in Kelowna had a set done for his 66 Beaumont and they are gorgeous but you must be patient as they won't be done next week.
