Sorry guys but 8437 is 8000 series Beaumont (x-body) for 1962, 1963. Changed to 9000 series in 1964 when the a-body became the 8000 series. The "4" indicates a 6 cylinder and the 37 is a two door hardtop (sport coupe).
The only way to tell if it is a Sport Deluxe is the "Z03" on the body plate (on firewall).

have to go to 2 different books for that question and not enough hours in the day to type out the differences because every model and year is different. also i found out 64 invader used the same 2 for both 6 and 8 cyl, for 65 but went to 3 for 6cyl and 4 for 8 cyl. 65 canso used 5 for 6 cyl or 8 cyl on the wagon but switched to a 6 for the hardtop and the sedan. beaumont is also all over the place.

Canso 83__ 4cyl, 84__ 6cyl no 37 model until 65
Beaumont 83__ 4cyl, 84__ 6cyl
Beaumont Sport Deluxe 8437 or 8467 6cyl only
My Invader is an 8269 (6cyl)
Hardtop is 8437 with z03 (6cyl Sport Deluxe)
Convertible 8467 with Z03 (6cyl Sport Deluxe)
I may not elaborate on my answers but I try to provide the pertinent info. My knowledge comes from 40 years as a GM partsman, multiple revisions of Acadian parts books on hand, 1963 Pontiac Salesman's Handbook, ownership of 66 GM vehicles including 23 Chevy II/Nova's and 5 Acadian's.
I am including scans of the vehicle info. For whatever reason I am unable to attach the images.
Love those parts books. great for sifting thru for info. acadian i have,622A,712A,712R and for beaumont i have 692R and for my pontiac i use a 732 with PO17 as the backup. scored a 55-57 canadian GMC/chev truck 575 with the 3 revisions last year for my ole truck. when used in conjunction with shop/chassis manuals and fisher body service manuals i'm full of UFI. as a side note turtle i would be interested in how accurate these old manuals are.
