1970 Buick GS Stage 1. Ottawa, Ont.

Personally I'd rather this Buick over the LS6 Chevelle that's 49k.

70 GS 455 Stage 1 , real documented stage 1 car. Does not have its original powertrain. Has 525 hp aluminum head 455, built turbo 400 and 3:42 posi rear, all of which has only 2000 km use, no racing. This is a high end driver quality car that drives and shows very nicely, it is correct in every way, very rare chance to obtain a car of this importance and quality for a very affordable price. The price is firm and please do not contact me unless you are serious. It is scary fast with good street manners.

A friend of mine just sold his 72 GS stage 1 non matching #. It had a built 455 came with all the original wheels, mint interior, absolutely not a spec of rust and he had to settle for $12 000. Over $30 000 invested. I thought it was way to cheap but that's how it goes now. Had the factory hood to mint also. image.jpg

That was a steal! If that was a factory black Stage 1 car with no vinyl top it was one of 13 built. Total Stage 1 production for '72 was 728.

It was Saturn yellow with white vinyl top. It was a real deal GS stage 1. Came to Regina from the south in the 80's

That would make it one of 17 Sunburst Yellow (Saturn Yellow was a 70 only colour on the GSX) Stage 1 cars.

You are correct. I sorry to hijack the thread but I'm not sorry. It's all Buick to me and I love Buick. Now Back to the white car!

That's a really nice Buckeye. Always a rare car in Canada, due to price likely.
They were an "under the radar" car when new. Buick wasn't the performance division back then.
These were the cars that taught me about torque vs. horsepower. Always understated, seldom beat by the more famous GM brethren.

Earl, do you remember the black on black 72 Stage 1 that used to be in London back in the 1980s? It had the N25 "Thru Exhaust" rear bumper? I used to see it in east London quite a bit.

No I don't Todd. But I do remember a GSX from when I was 15. It was new and the owner was a rich French-Canadian guy who was building a lot of houses in our 'hood. He wasn't afraid to drive it and always let er rip when we encouraged him.

when he dragged it at the local track he cleaned up in Pure Stock. Crazy Henri was his nickname, and he earned it with that car!
