Monte's were a dime a dozen in the late 80's, made good demo/total destruction cars and we totaled alot of them. Nice looking, strong cars, always liked.
I love those cars. '75, last of the round headlights. My buddy's father had a new, loaded '77. Beautiful light blue, white interior. Always liked them!

Sweet ride! My older brother had a Monte like this back in the day. I can't remember if it was green or gold, but I'd never forget those high back swivel buckets. I used to cruise it around with Isaac Hayes "chocolate chip" in the 8 track. Windows down, music up. Good times!
I've had 3 of these back in the day. They were such a lot of car for so little money in the late 70's,early 80's.
I remember when they came out in the fall of 72. Very stylish at the time.
Cheap and plentiful a decade later and totally out of style!
My Dad owned two bought them new from Golden Mile Chev., both triple black. The first one was a 454 with swivel seats. The second had a 350 4 barrel. He liked them. This one looks good and the colour brought back old memories for me.

The 1975 Monte Carlo was hugely popular when new and it spawned numerous imitators like the Ford Elite, Cougar XR7 (Montego-based from 74 76), Chrysler Cordoba / Dodge Charger. They all wanted a piece of the pie that belonged mostly to the Monte and the Grand Prix.
Back in 1999 we had a paving company repave our driveway. One of the guys was admiring my Chevelle so I asked if he had a collector car. As it turned out he owned a solid 1975 Monte Carlo. Well wouldnt you know it, last fall, a full 14 years later I saw the same guy on another paving job across the street. I asked him if he was the guy with the 75 Monte Carlo and he was. I went into my basement and located a 1975 Monte Carlo brochure that I had owned since 1975 and placed it into his hands. Im sure I made his day.
My brother owned a 1971 Monte back in the early 80s. Of course it was the previous generation and radial tires and suspension set up for handling were not part of their equipment (O.K., the SS454 had stabilizers).
I know a place in Ancaster / Dundas where I might still be able to find parts off a friends 1977 Monte Carlo that he crashed through a pole in 1980. There were significant front-end parts that were thrown into the grass across the ditch at the accident site and there hasnt really been any manicuring or change at that site. Fender end caps and stuff are probably still in the grass; I saw them there years ago.
Back in 1976 my dad was using a 1974 Monte Carlo Landau as a loaner while the dealer worked on his 1974 Biscayne. Dad used the car to cross a picket line for some real estate work he was doing. The guy at the picket line was trying to intimidate my dad and said "thats a nice car, mister" in a tone that implied "... it would be a shame if we strikers damaged it". Dad just replied "If you work really hard you can get one just like it!" Ballsey.
