A tankless job

With pictures and article supplied from Carl 1  (Western Carl)

I ordered a "new made in Canada" Spectra GM37"K"  tank   GM37C is for Impala  $299.95 trade price plus tax from Car Quest  ($199.95 from E-bay with no shipping no tax)

Since Carl sprayed his with clear finish...  I had to do the same  (monkey see monkey do)

I bought some Instant clear coat paint   Prepped it as Carl suggested   I hung it up and applied 5 coats and its really nice   love the brand of paint (photo supplied)

The old gas tank was rough looking underneath but still sound  It had been totally coated with a rubberized covering  (free to good home)

Now ready to install after body mount re-install  wink

Looking great there Carl 2.

That frame and those floors are pretty amazing for 48 years old.

Yes they are...  thanks

Unbelievable condition for us Ontario guys    by 1970 most Ontario and Eastern cars were rotted away

its too bad the previous owners  (like 2004-2013) had not spent the money for a nice paint job   would have made the car worth twice as much  lol

with lots of detailing and love and some bucks, we can make this old sows ear as nice as that black 427 GP in Morris

That undercarriage is already 10 times nicer than the car in Morris!

If I was the type who says "If only I hadn't....." but I'm not that type so I'm happy for you. When I make a decision to do something (such as sell a car) I don't look back. It was the right decision at the time and I will not regret it even if I sometimes have second thoughts.

That car is looking great Carl. I look forward to seeing the video of you standing on the loud pedal and grinning!
