Hello all I am new to the site. I am currently restoring my 1967 Parisienne 2+2. The car came with a 396/th400/12 bolt combo from the factory. I have the original motor in pieces waiting to be rebuilt, but for now I put in a carbureted ls style motor (5.3 lm7 w/ comp cam, comp valve springs, victor jr intake and long tube headers)
I just got the motor installed and wired up and I have been using the car as a cruiser for the summer. I plan on doing the passenger floor, trunk floor and finishing the interior in the next month, and I am planning on getting the body and paint completed this winter. I will post some pictures in the near future.
Cheers
Welcome from Edmonton. Like how you mixed new with old. Just curious, is the box on the fender well the computer to run the coil on plug ignition? And what sensors are still used - crank, knock, MAP, and TPS? Also, how's the power (carb verses injection) on the 5.3L?

The MSD box controls the coil packs, timing and is plugged into all the sensors except the MAP sensor. The car performs very well with the carb (Holley 750 vac secondaries) and with a 3.31 posi, 255 series tire and a 3200 stall converter it has no problem spinning the tires all the way to 2nd gear lol. The msd also has a rev limiter and more features I haven't looked into yet. So far I just adjusted the timing slightly and set my rev limit to 6200.
Thanks for all the feedback. I took a gamble and used the truck oil pan that came with the motor. As far as other modifications go I just had to elongate the holes in the flywheel where the torque converter bolts up and find a spacer to make the th400 convertor line up to the ls flex plate. Oil pressure/temp gauges and power steering system all had to be slightly modified, but it all works fine. My insurance is up as of yesterday so I probably won't put it back on the road until the floor and interior are done..

Great photos! Thanks and welcome from BC. I always liked the '67 Pontiacs; such a great front grill and headlights not to mention the really cool swept design of the 2 dr fastbacks. I remember a red possible '67 Pontiac convertible being the feature car in that '80's movie, Something Wild starring Melanie Griffith.
But it was probably an American Bonneville- still nice, of course! Saw that movie in the theatre.
