Couple of questions.

Are you using the engine mounts (on the frame as well as on the engine) from the small block?

Do you have the correct Chevelle/Beaumont oil pan?

Frame side, engine side, or both?

What I'm getting at is there is 2 different heights of engine side.

The oil pan is the single step, not the 2 step pan?

This is from ebay, advertised as Chevelle, and I think it's correct. Right style for sure.

I had the same problem, had the two step oil pan from a 1966 Impala. I used the original small block motor mounts and picked up a chrome pan from Bumper to Bumper and it dropped right in. (The second time)

Gord, I think I can get you that pan but I'd just buy it through Piston Ring. If you go there and they give you a blank stare, contact me and I can work on getting one for you.

Slightly off topic, but the 1977 400 small block engine I used for my Parisienne had triangular spacers between the mount and block. Must have been used to raise the engine a bit in a motorhome application. Not a solution for this situation, I just wanted to mention it.

Thanks
Randy

Yes, I would tell them you need an oil pan for a 66 Chevelle 396. If they say no, shoot me a note. Looking on the Dorman site, it looks like they sell it as a 264-161.
