Searching for -58 parts

HI, Peter from Sweden here, I am new at this forum. I have no canadian Pontiac, I am restoring a -59 Bonneville Convertible, but I have a friend who is restoring a -58 Parisienne Convertible. Since he is not so good at the English language, I will try to help him. He is searching for front bumper brackets, the Parisienne- emblems on the front fenders, and the "louvers" on the front fenders, behind the Wheel opening, he needs to the both sides. I have been looking at the topics here, and it looks to me that there is much competence and nice people here,so maybe this problem will be solved! If there is parts available, please send me an e-mail to: palmberg.p@telia.com

Thanks,

Peter Palmberg

.....those are very hard to find, especially the "Parisienne" scripts as they are only Canadian and not reproduced. The bars will be easier to find . The front bumper brackets should be fairly easy, maybe even Tin Man Dave here may have some. Hopefully someone here might have a spare one. Welcome to Canadian Poncho.

Hi, Peter here again! I dont know if they are called bumper brackets or bumper bars, ( i am not so good at technical descriptions in English), but the things we are searching are all between the frame rails and the chrome bumper, so the bumper can be mounted to the frame. The Parisienne-script, I know, can be hard to find, but I dont know a better Place to search for them. Pics are coming,my friend is better at restoring cars than handling a computer, so it might take a while...

Regards, Peter

....No, they are different,   but  a person can actually make them from flat iron if really was stuck.  I sold my last Pont front bumper with brackets about 2 years ago , nothing left now.

Hello! Thomas (owner of the Parisienne) today, 25 Nov. received a set of bumper brackets (thank you "Pathfinder 58" for selling them) It took 5 weeks from Gibsons to Sweden, but he is very satisfied. Now, the only parts missing are the louvers and the Parisienne- scripts to the front fenders. Seems to be hard parts to find, but who knows...

Regards from Sweden (we are waiting for the snow to arrive any day)

Hi! Thomas bought the 58 in 2007 from the guy who imported it to Sweden from US, but it seems that it was sold new in Canada. He has done a great job with it, all the floors and trunk floor was gone, and many parts that is specific for the convertible was missing. He thinks it was an original 283-car, but a 348 is always nice! Look at the decal on the valve cover, designed by owner!  My -59 Bonneville conv. was imported in 1988 from Santa Rosa, Calif. as a project car, and three owners later, still as a project, it landed in my garage. Seven years ago I said, "give me five years" now I say "give me four years". Anyone recognize this situation? Thomas works pretty well on his-58,so maybe next year...I will take more pics as the restoration goes on. To be continued...

Regards,Peter
