Alberta CPers

I own a mechanic shop in Barrhead, AB and I am a licensed out of province inspection facility. I want to offer a deal to my fellow CPers. My regular inspection rate is $190 plus tax. For the members of this forum I will offer Inspections at $160. I am very tolerant with classics, I hope to meet some of you. PM me for my contact info!

Going tonight to try to make a deal on a house in the Ardrossan area. So I'll have 2 vehicles to do in the near future.

 Whoa John, I take it you are finding yourself out here in Alberta more than in the valley.  I hope to be back in a week but it sure is nice here now that the snow has melted.

Hi Jerel;

Believe me it's not easy to move away from where I am, but there is so much work here, and almost none at home. I spend more time on the road these days, and can't enjoy my home. The poor wagon hasn't been touched all summer. My wife and I have agonized over this for months and answered all kinds of ads, but no one ever got back to us. On Saturday I went for a drive, stopped at a garage sale and just casually asked if they knew anyone that had an acreage for rent with room for horses. As it turns out, the place next door was recently vacated and they were looking for someone. It was her mother-in-laws place, and is almost perfect, the price was right, and it has a double garage. So it looks like November 1, we will be Alberta residents.

It's just off the Yellowhead, about 1/2 hour from the place I am contracting for, and I'm pretty happy with it. My wife has allowed me to do this deal without her having looked at it, so we'll see if I live through it! :)

 It all makes sense John.  Cheap gas, low taxes, no provincial tax, and probably the highest wages in the country.  Sock it away for a few years and you can always come back.  Oh yeah, and lots of friendly people too.  You can always buy a nice parka.

Cool John, I like the sound of this. If you are in Alberta I'd say there's a lot better chance of you and me being able to have a coffee break some time. I don't see me getting to BC any time soon but I have family in Alberta within a days drive.

I think this part of Alberta has Canada's densest horse population, so you should be in good shape concerning horses!!

Thanks
Randy

That's all I need, another dense horse!

Does a horse need an out of province inspection? Check the alignment? Exhaust system?

Usually when horses backfire there quite a mess to clean up I'd imagine. Lucky for me I am pig farmer by roots.
