1968 Pontiac 427/385

Got a call my shop on Thursday, from a locale carnut recluse, who says there is

one of these rare beast going to surface soon, some what complete, with original

drive line intact and running. with documentation. Will keep information flowing as

it unfolds, of course if it is indeed true.

Documentation from George, shows it being ordered by the Regina Regional Office as a zone car, unsure what that means.

That likely means a big shot at Regina zone drove it before a dealer bought it and resold it.

I failed in the pick up of the 427 all tires flat only one holding air. This guy (decent fellow) is a bit of a hoarder to say the least. i am there with my slider to pick her up. No way of getting close to car in any fashion to winch on the deck. Which even if I could get close would have done a lot of damage to car trying to rescue. Will try on Saturday, taking two of my trucks, 4 wheels and tires (red walls). One truck with a skid steer on deck, to move a couple tons of garbage out of the way to get at the poncho. So much stuff all over the place, some really rare items, real shame. I never saw so many 4 speed pontiac's in my whole life at one spot. Took a video of cars etc. when owner side tracked. There is no electricity to property etc. was sort of like out of a horror movie, felt a little uncomfortable being out there cash in pocket. Keep you posted as it unfolds.

Now i have a pretty good idea where ..... Been there too ( a couple of times ).  Watch out for the dogs. I have never seen so many 4 spd cars sitting in one place too . The ground should be frozen now , and should make it easier .

Looking forward to photos of this rare beast.  Pics of some of the 4-speed cars would be cool too.

Y'know, I often read on several car boards about hoarders in a negative connotation, but I can't help but think that a lot of these cars would have ended up in the crusher had they not been hoarded.  Food for thought.

Good luck on your acquisition!!

haha.. thanks .. you just made my day..   I think there is some truth to your statement..

I may not have 'hoarded my 64 custom sport.. but had I not had dry storage at my parents , it never would have lasted.. or I would have sold it..  I didn't drive that car for years , while I was away at school then starting my life..so to speak.

I've hoarded away a 63 Acadian hardtop, 67 Firebird, 67 GTO , 68 Beaumont SD,  owned from 20 + years to 12 and ,  had I just put them on the road then,, they would be gone now.   The Acadian is a early 80's time piece, as it was built for street racing !

Classic case!  All these cool cars are still around for current and future generations to enjoy because of your efforts!

What is the history of that Acadian street racer? Did it come from Manitoba?
