Quick, someone grab this thing. I'd already be on my way there but I am cleaning up, trying to sell off everything except my 66 GP. This is RARE (as if I need to say that!) I don't know the car or the seller but man oh man, talk about a once in a lifetime if it's documented. I suspect he may find he has priced it too low.
Is this the year with 14 produced like this? It's been played with but looks restore-able, what do we have here a $20,000 to $25,000 car restored ? I'm doing the math and can easily see $15,000 in work. Its a diamond in the rough though lots to like.

Agreed, it's still always best to buy a restored car, but finding one of these is next to impossible. I'm sure a guy would be upside down in it once it's restored but almost all restorations are that way.
This is driving me crazy. I just found the ad 5 minutes before I posted the link and I'm already tempted to delete this thread and hope nobody sees he ad before I can call tomorrow morning! (Just kidding, I know there's no way I can bring home another project car)
I had a figure of 10 in my head for production but you may be right at 14. This would be a twin to that gold one from Ontario a few years back, right? It was also a 2+2 as I recall.

Of course you might be able to get it running with little money and work and have a fun car to rip around in while you sock away the restoration money. Yes its like that gold one. I am sure it will be grabbed up fast.
We had a nice feature car that is close:

.....is it a real 427 car ?, that is the question. The console looks right for 69 other than the shifter. Always a surprise to see things like this pop up. Can't read the emblems if they say 427, those things are worth a few bucks alone. Can't see therear quarter louvers, bleeding rust everywhere too. Can't spot any other options on it.

Get the numbers off the block, passenger side on the pad in front of the cylinder head, and also the casting number off the block, driver's side, behind the cylinder head. Also, the cylinder head casting numbers but he would need to remove a valve cover. That is not as crucial as the block because they would be something that could be found if a guy wanted numbers matching heads, intake, carb etc.
Also, ask him if he has GM documents. If not, I'd get the VIN and pay for the documents. This car is worth a LOT more with documentation proving it's a real 427 4 speed.

...phone the guy right now, if he don't wake up then leave a message if he has a answering machine......you may not get a second chance in the morning.

his wife would answer with a crying baby and I would feel pretty bad about that
My neighbour bought a very solid original Beaumont project after midnight not long ago. He called about 11 PM, drove over 100 miles, left a deposit, drove back home and returned the next day with the rest of the money. He paid more money than the guy was asking because the seller told him he had 2 guys who said they'd be there first thing in the morning with cash.
You are right Johnny, best to have him upset for the late call but sometimes you have to beat the "earlybird"!!!

If any member truly wants this car they better contact the owner NOW and be prepared to pay a little more than asking price IF it's a true 427 factory built car.
I live only 15mins away from where this car is listed.
