1962 Parisienne Engine Option

I keep in touch with a fellow who is trying to decide what to do with his late fifties Chev with a 348 in it. He might part it out. My question is, and I know I asked before but forgot, could you order a 348 in a 62 Parisienne?

Or were they 409 by then?

Wondering if I should be trying to buy a 348 for the old girl. biggrin

1962 is a bit of an odd year in Canadian Pontiacs. The largest displacement engine available was 327 at 275 HP, the 283 V8 and 261 6 were also available.

In 1961 the 348 was optional in both 4 bbl and 3x2bbl which was rated at 280 HP.

In 1963 the 409 became available for the first time in a Canadian Pontiac and the 261 was dropped in favour of the 230.
