283, 267 or 307 Chevrolet V-8 with Automatic Transmission Wanted.

Looking for a 283 (1957 to 1967), 307 (1968 to 1973) or 267 (1979 to 1982) Chevrolet V-8 motor and Power Glide or 350 Hydro automatic mated to it. I do not need any boat anchors or motors that have been seized for 30 years. I am looking for a complete and running motor that is not too tired. Something i can just drop in hopefully. I do not require any hopped up/souped up motors and transmission, only looking for stock motors and transmission. Prefer two barrel motors that have never had any modifications done to them. I am in Southern Ontario (Milton) and i will travel two to three hours to get an engine and transmission. Will consider buying a running Chevrolet/Pontiac car that is still running but the body is shot, to get the motor and transmission. I am looking for reliable, dependable and economical V-8 motivation. George.

73SC asks a good question.
With the stories of the Enviro cops checking out modified cars and nabbing them for leaving off the original pollution junk you might be better off with an engine from the pre-pollution junk days.

I am doing a very big favor for a very good  friend of mine. He has a 57 Chev that he is working on but knows little about motors and cars. There is no motor in the car but it was a 283 Power Glide originally. I agree with the remarks about the smog engines and the enviro police but i will be making this motor look original. Thanks Carl for the ad. George.
