Stroker Kit, or piece it together?

Starting to put together a stroker plan,

Question,

Am I better off buying a "balanced" rotating assembly as a kit?

Or should I buy matched crank, flexplate, rods and pistons individually, and have it all pro balanced?

To keep the cost reasonable, probably looking at a good quality Scat or Eagle cast crank (1pc seal), decent 5.7" I beam rods and Hyper pistons.

Any thoughts?

My buddy with the Firebird just finished his last year and had it dyno'd a couple of months ago, 350 hp at tires. He bought the balanced Eagle crank kit for around 2g. Kb pistons, rods, rist pins, eagle crank and ballancer. Also put on dart heads not sure on the price of those 900.00pr on sale I think? Think he got the kit from Mopac, not sure if you guys have Mopac out east. Could prob get kit # and specs if you want. Guy at dyno said everything matched perfect, carb cam intake bottom end. Sure it was around 6g all in. Just a thought.

Here's a few kits for about $2,000 that will give you more torque than you'll ever need.

$1,800   $2,100  $2,000

Thanks Jim.

Yes, exactly as you say Jim, it would be one of the Eagle or Scat kits. Sounds like for 2 thousand it probably was a high end forged crank, rod and piston kit.

But would any bought kit actually be balanced to a decent degree?

And yes, no argument guys. A BB can absolutely, totally, completely and thoroughly crush any SB...
