With many thanks to Ken I have a clock for my '66 that actually works, been running it a few days now and it seems to work perfectly after only having to clean and lube it up! My question tho is has anyone taken the time set handle off to be able to clean the lens and the little chrome button covering the arm shafts? I have poked and prodded at it and don't want to bust it. Has to be a trick! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What I've done is pull the knob out until you can actually see the shaft protruding from the lens. Hold the shaft tight with a needle-nose pliers so it won't turn, then turn the knob off counterclockwise to unscrew it from the shaft. Use same concept to put the knob back on.
If the needle-nose won't stop the shaft from turning, try using some side cutters to hold the shaft as the needle-nose will give it a good bite. Don't squeeze too tight or you'll cut the shaft off.

Hey what did you do to actually get it going? I'd like to get mine clicking again!
I tore it open, took a small contact file to the contact pads on both side then sprayed the assembly liberally with silicone spray and then gently flicked the pendulum gear to get it started, kept doing that till it ran on it's own, mechanism wound down until contacts closed, it rewound and hasn't stopped yet!
So I tried to grip the shaft and twist the handle on both the new one and my old one and neither will budge. Is it left hand thread? Do I need to start eating my wheeties more? My tongue not in the right spot in my cheek? This thing is stuck on there good.

Ive removed them same way as 2+2, ya sometimes they get sticking.
