^^^^ Thanks, I never get tired of the look of the old ones between 1973-80 & 1981-87 either.

Like them all, but my favorites years are 1978 (older front fender design with vertical blinker) & 1987 (TPI-V8 plus cleaner grill).

^^^^ YES, from my personal stash...garage kept inside.

Larry's land line here:  @ 519...631...9443 or email beaumont 67 sd @ gmail (dot) com - located just outside St. Thomas (near city airport).

The top '84 was my very 1st truck, drove it for 5 straight trouble free years...so cheap to operate.

- box floor is completely rust & dent free

- door bottom seams still tight, etc.

Even has original black paint on the frame rails / a true testimony of faithful oil spray undercoating, my mechanics hate working under my vehicles (LOL).

 - Thanks Dave, please forward to your friend

Todd - If you weren't on the east coast, we be trading your 4x4 Cheyenne parts vehicle for my 6cyl. '83 pickup ASAP.

(for my southern 1996 Jeep SUV needs)

Maybe I should dolly tow it for 3 long days & could always spend a weeks stay, at your fine place...biggrin...a vacation to remember !!

I sort of hate using Kijiji, but I threw this pair of trucks up on the London site...got 340 hits (in 2 days) & 2 emails.
- thought I'd share with my Pontiac friends

1st email last night:
do you have the used vehicle package for the 84 ? The color is so rare im wondering if it is my dads old truck.

His name was Richard Sxxxx or Ross Sxxxx. If his name is on it I'm interested in the truck.

He would be the second owner from new. Please email me if his name is on the UVP.

............I have only ever seen 2 84's in that color combo.

My reply - 1st email:

I bought the truck approx 20 years ago, from a co-worker in St. Thomas...his first name was Phil.

I guessing he bought it used (bit of a tightwad), probably drove it several years and had it repainted once.

- I haven't run the sellers package yet, wasn't in place when ownership was transferred into my name

- intend to spend the 20 bucks, and get the sellers package once the truck sells

I guess it possibly could be your Dad's truck, if he was from the London area & bought it fairly new.

Cheers, Larry

2nd email last night:
Hi, I saw your ad "1983 Chev. & 1984 GMC. I'm really interesting about some stuff Plz you may call me as soon as.

So I can meet today to buy. Thanks sir

My reply - by phone & test message:

PHONE Call - Turns out he is interested in the $5K GMC and not the cheaper Chev. and wants to come and see / buy today.

Quickly the conversation went "does the radio work/I want to buy the radio, I want to buy the chrome mirrors & a rear window...any A/C parts"?

I said - "I not parting out a perfectly good truck, I've got those extra parts if you need that sort of stuff".

He said - "O'h there not for me, sending them to a friend, I come today - 2 hour drive".

I said - "I got to go to work soon (BS), your not seeing anything today...only weekend showing (aka...when I'm not alone).

We will follow up via text from now on".

My TEXT sent - Hi Mohammed, re 1980's Chev trucks & parts...I want you to text me back so I have a digital trail.

See you on Saturday and text me before leaving Toronto...Larry

^^^^ KIJIJI sure brings out the best leads...LOL...enjoy the read & always important to maximize ones safety !!

Dear Mohammed never did text me back...no surprise / hard to figure out, what some people are really up to...sure was a new experience.

Reminds me of years ago when I had my 70 Buick GS clone for sale (this was when the Auto Trader was the only real place to sell a car). A guy calls and shows up. He pops the GS hood, looks at it all over, closes it, says thanks and runs away! Although the car was stored in a garage I chained the hood to the car fearing I'd come to find it missing!

Thanks for the funny email trail. Never thought much about people coming over to buy things and safety. Your dead on that it's a possible "slim shady" could use that to scope out the goodies. At least we have conceal and carry here and they can meet my little friend if they come back after hours.
Selling is a pain but it's just as frustrating buying sometimes. I've been searching for a correct intake for a year and after 10 emails this guy swears he has one and it's priced right. I asked all the questions and it was all yes yes yes. So before driving 4 hours I ask for confirmation picture of the #'s. "Here you go" he says

Back in the 1980's I heard of a 1967 Beaumont SD for sale in Algonquin Provincial Park area.

I phone the guy up, find out the whole trunk floor was patched with a flat piece of tin, rotted out floor/doors/BB hood/quarters/etc.

We agree on $1200 cash - car has buckets, console, M21, 4 speed pedals, 12 bolt posi rear, SD trim in the trunk, BB hood inserts...396 long gone.

Before I drive 8 hours straight, I make it perfectly clear that if he is serious about selling the car & we can get the deal done - don't take my offer & look for a better one.

Wife and I make the long trip, the car is beyond repair but a very good parts car with most of the rare goodies...turns out the seller is a cop, what could go wrong.

I hand the man $1200 in 20's...now he won't take the cash & sign the ownership / turns out a neighbors friend want to buy the SD to, but hasn't seen the car yet.

I was pissed and drove another 8 hours home, with gas receipts of $200.

^^^^ A year later I see the carcass of the car towed into Barrie Flea market, asking price is $1800.

The following year, I recognize the same vendor without the SD...he doesn't remember me and I ask him if he knows of any SD parts cars for sale.

His reply - "I had one last year, I sold here...your to late".

I said - "O'h darn, I missed out..how much did you get"...and the answer came back: $1200

Now I'm a little pissed off again, the seller had refused my original offer and finally recouped nothing more.

Got a email inquiry, goes like this:

Hi . Would you be interested in a trade for my 2003 honda civic 4 dr in really good shape ?

Hi Kevin - I assume your inquiring about the solid blue 1983 truck ?

No the 84 sierra

NO - the 1984 GMC is a $12,000 truck painted...thks for your interest...LARRY

Oh .. Your price on the ad says $5000

^^^^ Duh - I'm not trading my $5000 pickup even, for a $1500 Honda (at best).
Just funny what can be offered, this day and age !!
