Wanted - Looking for a 1937 or 1940 Ford fiberglass hood kit for a Volkswagen Beetle.

I'm looking for a hood kit for a VW bug. It's made of fiberglass and was the rage back in the 70's.

There were a number of manufacturers back then.

Today I think there is still one manufacturer who makes them, but apparently the quality is something not desired.

The hood is fiberglass and the grill I believe is cast aluminium. I need both.

I'm sure there are still some around and any lead to finding one would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, -Geo

 Thanks Carl......corrected that......not desired

Apparently 60-80 hours to fix. I've missed on a few over the years,so I'm

reaching out on the site hoping someone has spotted a hood and grill in their travels.

I remember these very well. Growing up with and collecting HOT ROD and many other car magazines back then. I recall the ads at the back of the car magazines for these VW conversions. There was even articles in some car magazines about the very same VW conversions. Good luck with your search and i would imagine California, U.S.A. would be your best bet for finding these items. Just an educated guess. Cheers. George.

I sent them a e-mail questioning their actions

He must have misunderstood.  We will be happy to give him a price but we need to

know the year of the donor car and whether it is a standard bug or a super.
