Windshield cowl molding on 66 Grande.

Does the molding under the windshield hold down the cowl? I can't figure out why mine just rattles and don't see any fastener locations.IMG_2656.JPG

No, there's quite a bit more to it. I don't have time to write it all out now but will do it later tonight if nobody helps you.

Sounds good, I should be more specific tho, it is fastened down in the front, but at the back near the windshield it is quite loose. It is in no danger of going anywhere, just vibrates and is generally quite annoying.

Hi Mark, I'm back home now.

I asked a similar question to your's a couple of years back. Here's that thread. Does this help at all?

And if it's not clear in that thread, did you find the clip on each side that you remove, right at the outer ends? You have to open the door and then look in that gap to find the screw if I remember right.

Run a parts wanted ad here. Hopefully a member with a parts car can help.

I'm not so sure. I suspect the US cars may be different because the entire wiper mechanism is different on them. However, the windshield interchanges.

Too bad, I sold my 66 Grand Prix (US model) parts car. I could have checked on it. If they are the same that sure increases your odds.

I may try to dig in to the parts books later tonight.

As well as those trim clips I think there is also some plastic anti rattle clips, plastic mouldings  and 2 rubber cushions on the underside of the cowl panel which are shaped and glue on lenthways. If I can find these and my ISP sorts out my picture uploading problem, i will do exactly that. I have extra clips but live in australia wink

I still have a couple of parts cars that may have that stuff, but they are under a fair bit of snow at the moment.

Well I am in no rush really at the moment, just figured it was something small I could get together in my spare time not realizing it was going to take some special parts! Any help would be appreciated tho! Everything seems to be a slow process with this car!
