800 us sms quoted for me .............i have to think this one over , i have one or two panels that are not in that bad of a shape also
SMS are highly rated... most having them done, I presume, will be for a show car... but if you spend the 1000, you will never have to do them again.... Its only money
I know that now people are restoring Chevelle 300s and base cars, but in most of those cases they just end up using Malibu interior trim because it is readily available repro. Think about it, an SS396 could be a big bucks car and it is the one that restoration suppliers can actually see being able to sell a bunch of interior kits for. They don't see the deep pocket restorations on base 300 cars and such, and they wouldn't be able to move enough base kits to make it economically viable or attractive anyway.
SMS if you are financially secure and patient. Or scout for used ones piecemeal and redye them when you get a whole set assembled. Small tears can be repaired so keep you eyes open for potential door panel donors all the time. You will get there eventually.

i agree and appreciate your comments Carl and Cameron , i could use Malibu panels but it will always bug me , and probably only ME !!!
when a see for example a GM post car with mags , 1970 chevelle strips or GM rally wheels or a 300 with a SS Hood ( the only only Hood available for a long while and maybe it is still the case ) it irritates me
the looks of a post car in my book should not be sporty but more like a sleeper in my taste , and if it was born with steelies , they must stay on
so about the panels , i am going to order them to have the same as when my car was born so i will spend 1000.00 instead of 500.00 not that bad i will convert to cheap whine for a while tha ts it
worst to come i will wait a bit to get the panels but i am working on it to get them this spring....................as soon as a get my tax return.

Trim for the base Beaumont sedans were 724 - Med. Blue cloth; 768 - Fawn cloth; 757 - Black vinyl (extra cost).
Unique to Canada was the wagon & convertible on this series. All vinyl standard in 757 black or unique 219 - Medium Blue vinyl (same colour as the 724 trim).
Gold was for upper series cars like the Custom and Sport Deluxe.
