We are replacing the tailgate on the wagon prior to the Sloan Show next month. The one on the car had some rust on the interior so I bought one out west, had it blasted and we are putting all new parts inside the tailgate.
Question is on the exterior trim. The trim on the tailgate is not spaced properly so the maple leaf emblem will be centered but how far is it from the inside edge of the spears to the emblem. Is there anyone out there who knows the distance from outer end of the spears to the edge of the tailgate? I can work off of either measurement. Thanks, hope to see you at the Sloan Show in Flint, MI on June 26,27,28, 2015.
No I didn't find anything else that I wanted at the prices being asked anyway, but today before I left I went over to Menno's house and got two very nice door windows in the frames for a good price 1/2 of what that guy at the show wanted for his.
Then I showed him the convertible top latches I got and the rear 1/4 panel Beaumont badge that I got after I polished them up, he was drooling and couldn't figure out how he missed them Friday night before the doors opened.
He showed me what he got before the show started I was drooling not that I needed any of it but he had a couple of real nice hood bars one for a 63 and 66 Acadian in mint condition he got for pretty much nothing, couple of consoles that were very nice same years 63 + 66 he did good on the buying but said not so great on the sales.
Well, it's been nice catching up on the swap meet news with you guys. Thanks for the misinformation on my tail lights, I'm glad I didn't swap them out for Acadian units.
I actually posted this thread in hopes of receiving some helpful information but I'm glad you guys found it useful for your conversation.
Sorry to steal your show forespeed and give you the wrong info on your tail lights.
I guess we did get carried away on your post, but like I mentioned in my first post get a hold of Menno I'm sure he could help you out with your question.
Hi Norm. my 63 uses acadian specific taillights because the backup light/delete is in the bumper. i think 62 is the only year they are in the taillight. mine is the same as the nova but the complete lense is red.
I think I need to apologize to Jim and Dan as my post was way too harsh back in June 2015. I was preparing to display the wagon in a show featuring Canadian built autos and time to have it ready was running short.
I was able to center up all the trim and the wagon was sold later in Aug. of 2015 at Autofest in Oshawa, ON.
thanks for the offer and enjoy your wagons, they are among my favorites.
