Wanted: Saginaw Four Speed

Looking for a Saginaw four speed, prefer 2.54, or 2.84 first gear ratio (indicated by one groove or no grooves on the input shaft, respectively) and tailshaft tapped for transmission mounted shifter. There are several different variations of these from 1966 to about 1984, and I can help with ID if needed. I am in BC so shipping needs to be a consideration, although not in a hurry so could wait for a relay if needed. Shipping by Greyhound is about a buck a pound, although this would require crating or other packing.

Thanks!

Kevin, take a look on our local Castanet. There is a fellow advertising rebuilt Saginaws with various ratios for $500. He also has Muncies. I could maybe bring it out to the Island the second week of August. I'll be in Victoria on the 9th for a few days.

I have a rebuilt one sitting in Langley... $400 ..I bought from my cousin a couple of years back.. Never made it there with a vehicle to grab it..

Let me know.. I'll put you in touch with Dave,

I do not know the ratio... We can check.

I've received a couple of good leads, just waiting for ratio confirmation. There are decent prices on rebuilts out there that I didn't expect.

A package arrived from Chicago today containing a Saginaw specific shifter, linkage and backup light switch and bracket, and 48 years of grease and grime. Looks like it will clean up well, and the price was right!
