Nice car, and rare. I owned a 64cs 409/425 hp and I know the air cleaner v-eight symbol was not on mine from the factory. I think they were on the Chevy air cleaners. Also don't see the ballast resistor on the fire wall. Hope someone knows about it for you.

Welcome Doug. Beautiful car. Do you have GM docs on it? This would be an excellent monthly feature car!

Todd it was born a 6cyl with heavy duty suspension and I thought this was odd I was told there was a dealer in Canada that made these swaps   It also has a sit of strange looking headers on it

.......sweet ride Doug - welcome aboard.......don't remember any dealerships in Toronto doing these swaps but a lot of gearheads

did..........I worked with a fellow at a GM dealership that put a 409 in his own 63 Belair in 1966.

By 1966 and 67 the Mark IV big block was making its impression on the street/strip scene and unfortunately the 409

was fading and parts would become scarce.......many continued to run hot 327's in these earlier 60's cars.

Where did you get this?

For full info on the car check out the 'sticky' in The Lounge for GM Vintage........it's a great service.........enjoy the ride

VERY COOL......I'd have that one in MY garage....

I'm SURE Mr Bruneau would know the story on THAT one......He MAY have even been involved in the swap...
