Power Steering Box

I would like to do a P.S. conversion on our Strato Chief. I have heard that there is a new style/updated 605(?) Saginaw box that is a direct bolt on to the 58 -64 Strato Chief chassic. Is there any one who knows about this box. I have done the ones where you needed the adapter plate and so on.

Suggestions and options gladly accepted.

I'll be going with the 500 series box myself. All the reviews I've read say that the 500 has much better feel and functions very well compared to the 605 box. Also, there is no need for adapter plates. Either option you will need to do either a rag joint adapter or go with a universal joint (which is what I will be doing).

Here's some sources I've stumbled across:

search google for Hemmings motor news power steering conversion, there is a list of vehicles that have the box you want. the article is a good read on quick ratio boxes.
I also am planning this for my '62

Lowfen, there's a guy on here goes by GREGORY. He has a '61 Pontiac and used the Delphi 600 box. Here was the PM I got from him:

It is not perfect but is close to original. I purchased a Delphi 600 steering box from summit, ( it is concedered quick steer, 3 turns lock to lock ) fed ex to my door ,shipping and HST no brokerage fees  under $500. Now more with dollar difference.  I had manual steering,  box bolted in, hooked to pitman arm and to stock centre link. Only needed borgeson joint and  16" piece of steering rod.  Any other box will be tight between block and rad. You will probably need a type 2 GM power steering pump with remote fill and after market mount ( I made my own out of aluminum). I found pump for $10 ,converted to remote fill. Because you have power steering  you might have to change to a manual pitman arm and centre link.  Had car out today  for first run on the steering ,handled great.
