1963 Parisienne rebuild

Kinda new wonder about parts. Like door hinges do they come from impala or bonneville?

Welcome here.

I just used the Chevy parts book and the Canadian Pontiac parts book to confirm that Parisienne and Impala door hinges are the same part.

Does your book say which door hinges are the same?

Is say only 63-64 the same or would it be 61-64?

Are the front hinges on a 2 door car the same as on a 4 door car?

Thanks,

Don

Glad this forum is out here cause there is a lot I dont know :)

 Welcome!

It doesn't look too bad for sitting in a field for 23 years. How is the frame?

Mine hasn't been on the road since 1986 also. I'm hoping to finally have time to really work on it in a couple years.

All Paint stripped Frame and Floor Pan cut out.

Now here is where I might piss some people off......................

Will be using the chassis from a 2006 Trailblazer under the body since the Parisienne was so far gone this seemed a more cost effective way since I was going to need floor pan fuel lines brake lines fuel tank fuel pump motor etc, etc  and I dont pay myself for my labour.

Picked up the trailblazer for 900 bucks has 5.3l V8 165,00 Km on it seems to run good but will keep an eye out and probably build a 6.0 to swap out in the future,  transmissions blown but found another one already will be swapping out the transfercase with the borg warner from a Denali and the car will be Awd have 4 wheel disc Brakes and be ODB II

Need to section the frame to match the pontiacs wheel base and hoping to use the floor from the trailblazer since dont want to spend the money on a replacement but wont really know how things are going to work out till I get the chassis onder the body for some trial fits but pretty confident  that I will make it work one way or another even though I dont really know what i am doing :)

Wow you are one dedicated guy. The car actually does look pretty good considering the sit time - in a field yet. I don't know where you got those quarter panels from ...BUT I had a set that look very similar to those. I got them with my car, but when it came time to use them, John found that they were not a good fit, let alone nice-they were not. They were misformed and the wheel well opening was not right. John did hand make the lower quarters on our car by hand and they turned out about perfect. It will be nice to see your cars progress. Enjoy.

Shaned, this is a very, very, very cool project!

I can't wait to see how you mate the body and frame together. Love the AWD and LS engine.

Keep us posted with your progress.

p.s. Did I mention this was a very cool project!

An AWD 60's convertible?!? That's taking custom to another level! Congrats.

If you haven't seen this yet, it may give you some insight to a chassis and floor pan transfusion:

Good luck with the build!

I ordered the lower quarters online cant remember where from and Yes I was kinda disappointed when I opened the box probably should of spent the money on getting some more tools so I could fab them myself we will see what happens once I get started on the body work. Any pics of the fabricating of the quarters for your car?

So slow Progress over the Summer hard to find time,
Decided instead of cutting trailblazer frame i will move rear wheel arches back, as well the trailblazer frame sits below the body to much so I think i will be widening the rockers (as seen in the last image a little photoshop comparison)
Just fitted the transmission and trasfercase too see if i can drop the seat pans down and looks like I can so might be able to use a power seat, Got a lowering kit for the trailbalzer but still seems high but will worry about that later right now the frame is 6" from the ground, trailblazer frame might of been the wrong choice but oh well to late to turn back now (would be a great frame to make a 60's Awd C10 pick up).

Shops moving in 2 years so my goal is to get er down before that.................

So many times I have looked at it and said WTF am I doing. :),

Probably post some more updates in a couple months.

Wiki says Trailblazer is 10 inches longer but seems more like 8ish to me
