Anyone out there?

Just having a look at the dates people last posted in this pre-1958 section, and see no one has since about mid-October. Just wanted to check that the world hasn't ended, and I'm the only one left.

Helloooooooo!

It seems early Canadian built Pontiac's are few and far between. I'm not even sure we have any members with anything pre-war either.

Might be the time of year when there is not much going on - I suspect many guys in Canada are putting away their cars for the winter, eh?

As someone else said, at least we are in second place. The next year range of 1960-69 encompasses the muscle car era, which seems to be very popular now. This is probably the same thing that is happening to owners of vintage cars now, in that when they pass away, there is not the interest among younger people any more.

At least the rock 'n' roll years of the 50's still seem to attract young people to festivals, because of the dress and music. Long may it live on.!

Almost!!!! I had the 52 out for a run yesterday after replacing the rear springs with a set of 'cargo coils" + a set of 'air shocks' Rear "gas' shocks were just over 2 yrs. old & out of Warr. [of course] & were "whipped"!!!!  Car shouldn't bottom out now [with a load of beer for trips south] & it rides much better. will likely squeeze one more trip, then put it to bed beside the Avanti after a good 'dose" of Sea FOAM in the fuel tanks!!!

I spent 12 (wasted) years restoring a '31 Model "A" Deluxe Coupe in the  70's only to find that when it came time to off it, everyone who wanted one already had it, and the rest of the community only wanted the car that they grew up with in high school!

Demographics definitely at play here. Next thing you'll see is mellenials restoring '80's 'vintage' automobiles!no

I agree- long live the '50's!!

To me the fifties will always be the era of CLASS for automobiles. There is no era like it except the 1940's, there is another era of CLASS for automobiles. Where style and class really meant something. The shapes, the chrome, the colours and the pizzazz always did it for me and always will.
