The 49-'52 sedan deliveries were so bare-bones commercial they didn't even come with a right hand taillight, so after searching for many years to find an OEM taillight bracket to no avail- I decided to build one. The t.l. is easy to find but the stand is contoured to the body so I just used my original left side and fabbed one in reverse out of 18 gauge metal. It turned out pretty good and once I Bondo it up a little, it should look original equipment. Next step is to wire the body for the extra t.l. as well as signal lights.
I know someone here in Alberta who could use one of those in the event you feel energetic. He also gave up on trying to find one so made one out of wood about 15 years ago, and it's still on his car.

Apparently if you wanted two taillights it had to be factory ordered on the build sheet. The service manual shows the wiring diagram for it, but mine was never wired for it- consequently you would have had to remove the headliner to add the crossover. Also there was no thought given to a rough-in for signal lights or for that matter, even switches in the door jamb for the dome light. Adding signal lights means changing the 3 screw terminals in the engine bay to 4, and adding 2 filament bulb sockets.
I'm having a new wiring harness made by an old school company in Rhode Island (3 months and still waiting) and they wouldn't touch it until I sent in my original- stating that " those Cdn. models are weird and we have to be sure! "

I've sent them a Canadian wiring once and it was long enough to me to get it back. But great job.
