It's quick and easy to add your car to the registry. It would be nice to get the new registry bigger than the previous one. A couple of photos is all we need. Data plate photos would also be helpful. If you have the GM docs we'd love to see those too. Just be sure to block out the VIN before uploading it. Paired with the forum, the registry will continue to educate people about these great cars. If you haven't already you will need a separate login for the registry. It's best if you chose the same username as you have on the forum. The best part of the new registry is you can log in anytime and make changes, add cars etc.
You can CLICK HERE or the "Registry" option at on menu bar above.
Will be adding mine shortly. Todd: can I enter my mother inlaws 67SD? It's not my car, but it is family and the only pic I have so far is the GM Docs but will be getting more pics shortly. Thx Jim
Jim, I think I can safely answer with a solid YES, all Canadian Pontiacs are welcome in the registry. As a matter of fact, CP'ers are encouraged to enter project cars, parts cars, non member's cars, their own cars, ALL Canadian Pontiacs that there is some info on. This all helps to build a data base for models, options etc. A couple of very important facts about Canadian Pontiacs have been documented in the original registry.
1) The date that 67 Beaumont Sport Deluxe cars transitioned from an option to their own model number has been narrowed down to a very small window of time in production. Yes, a limited number of people already were privy to that information but it was not common knowledge. Now it is.
2) We have pretty much proven without a doubt that a 409 was available pretty much the entire 1965 model year in full size Pontiacs. Previously it was assumed by many people that 396's were available in later 65 model B bodies, the same way Chevy did it in the US.
Things like this reinforce how important it is for all of us to contribute all we can to the registry.

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
I have 2 cars from the past should I add or wait until new owners register (both owners are hoarders who never come on the site) 67 SD conv and 66 Strato Chief
I guess we'll see what Todd says but for my part, I'd say enter them and if the present owner comes and enters it again, just delete your's.
Hmmmm? I'd say not..... (unless permission is had) Not your car(s) anymore... I would see it as an act of infringement... Actually, personally? I'd be upset... big time! Just sayin'....

What if the information is already in the old registry and just being "moved" to the new one?
There is a big difference here. The original Registry was a true data base of cars submitted that were spotted or located and no ownership or claim of ownership was made except in cases where the owner was known and the owner submitted the car.
This new registry lists cars and makes a direct claim of ownership to the person submitting it. I have posted 5 cars and I was actually going to remove the ones that I don't own or ever owned becuase this has been bothering me.

So then this really isn't a registry but just a collection of pics and info of member's rides.

So, as in the old registry, just submit the information with no name attached to the post? No name, no claim of ownership.

Don't give me that confused look! LOLOL... ok, in October I asked you if the old entries were being used and you stated no, we were starting fresh... With that being said, I summized we were inputing our own cars.... that we personally own.... NOW, since I haven't added cars as of late, I will when I get time, I wouldn't want anyone else posting pics or information on my cars.... but that's just me... it only takes one person to get ruffled and then all is lost.... why not just try and prevent that from the start? Junk cars aren't the issue here.... It's the addition of someones driving bundle of joy... Just add the non attached cars... Just my defunct 2 pennies..

Perhaps Jon can change the registry to simply say "contributed by" instead of inferring ownership. Jon?
And that would be a much better idea.... just like the old "spotted" registry.... Maybe add a little statement saying as such to the fact "no toes were meant to be stepped on in the event of opposition"... I wouldn't want anyone to get their knuckles rapped over something for all to enjoy...
The change has been made. Vehicles posted do not claim ownership unless stated by the member in the description. Ray, I see you have removed the entries you posted. Let me know if you will be adding them back, otherwise I will remove them from my end. At the moment we have multiple blank entries.
I was thinking about this when I was driving today and was going to suggest that, but I see I'm too late! (and that's great that it's already done.)
That old registry had lots of cars that were just "submitted by ____" because someone was kind enough to take the time to submit one they'd seen on for sale, or at a car show, or in a wrecker's or wherever. That was great, it helps build a database and we need that.
Great improvement Hardtail.
