This is going to be a fun one to fallow! Sounds like you have a vision in your head, looking forward to the outcome!

Looking forward to the progress, I have an HPI kit sitting on the floor of my garage and it will be going into my 66 SD soon, frame up and resto mod pro tour too, stock sucks.

HPI put out a YouTube video on how to install it if you haven't seen it yet.

HPI Customs - '68 to '72 Chevelle K-Brace Installation

I agree,  Stock does nothing for me.

A couple little updates..

I bought a massive starter. biggrin

and am currently looking at all the lighting in and on my car.

I'm getting LED bulbs for my Autometer Phantoms... Should look something like this...

Also looking at endless possibilities for headlights and tail lights. LED and HID way outshine the original equipment.

I'm also pulling the trigger on vintage air A/C this week and UMI lowering springs and shocks.

I'm hoping the 2 inch drop kit will get me where I want but I'm not against cutting the front springs if it's not low enough.

My current favorite wheels are these... I will paint them to match my car... Probably two tone them. biggrin

I'm in no hurry to buy wheels though.

Slow going on my frame mods though.

Seems like every time I get in the garage I have a friend or two show up and then it just turns into a beer and bs fest.

Or else I'm busy with my son and wife and they priority over the car...

Pics of bad welding...lol. I was never a great welder but I'm way out of practice. Seems to be getting better the more I weld anyway...

That's just tacked in^^

Out of everything on this build the vintage air is the only thing thats cheaper in Canada. $1500 for EVERYTHING.  Im getting to old to want to drive the car around on hot +30 days.... or maybe its just fat and lazy...lol

Sounds like a good plan. Just remember when ordering your springs, get them for the 64 frame you are using, rear upper pocket is different between 64 & 67, takes a different spring.

Good, just didn't want you to get bit like I did years ago when putting a 66 frame under my brothers 67 Chevelle.

Because all 64 - 67 Chevelles are the same underneath right?..... NOT! Learned the hard way.

Good looking ride, kinda partial to the 67's myself đ Be interested to see the finished product and the stance. I'm currently looking at the adjustable QA1 coil overs to lower mine... Just wish the Cdn dollar would help lol

don't need adjustable stuff to get the right stance, Way cheaper to buy an of the shelf proven spring.

If I had to do it all over again ALL my suspention would be from UMI Performance and my brakes will be from Kore3.

Talk to Ramey at UMI or Tobin at Kore3 if you need brakes. In a world where customer service doesn't stack up anymore these guys know their shit and are good at it.

Made in America parts built to work and last.

Nice start Paul, this will be an awesome car when its all done.

I second Paul's recommendation of Ramey at UMI for suspension. The customer service is top notch and the product is great. I've got a UMI Stage 5 Suspension in my Beaumont and am really happy with it. I can't speak for Tobin as I haven't dealt with him but have read and heard a lot of really good things about him as well.

In a world full of LSX swaps its nice to see that you are considering EFI for your Big Block. I am in the same boat, will probably put EFI on my Big Block rather than go the LS Route. I've already got a bunch of money into the Big Block, the mini starter, the headers, the March Serpentine System, and a DeWitts BBC Radiator, it adds up fast! And not to mention, the sound is unbeatable. Might look at a ZZ502 one day but I am pretty sure I will keep mine BBC.

Great pics, keep em coming.

These are the jw speaker 5.75 led headlights

I found a thread on TeamChevelle with a guy installing them on his pro touring Chevelle.

New version of the headlights I'm looking at. There's also The same thing with a halo outer ring as a running light.

Yeah for sure, It really bothers me having my wife and kid in lap belts these days.

Although I never wore a seat belt at all till I was about 14.. My mom thought lap belts were more dangerous then not wearing a belt at all. confuse
