Vin decode for Acadian

There is an Acadian Convertible for sale on ebay US and the vin plate shown is as follows:   4469007599

I'm sure this vin doesn't match the car but it has been a long time since I decoded one and I'm not sure if this vin is a Canadian Nova or an Acadian.  The first character would indicate 1964 but not sure about the remainder of the vin.  Can I get some help on this?

I'm afraid the "69" in the VIN means 4 door. If that's on a convert, run away as fast as you can!

Thanks but I stand by my statement to run away as fast as you can!

I've had my fun-with-a-VIN-tag episode for this lifetime. I won't be doing that any more, and I don't recommend that anyone tries it. It's not worth the stress, even when it all turns out to be ok in the end.

He can call and ask but it doesn't matter what the seller says, it matters more if someone comes to the door AFTER you buy a car with VIN tag issues.

Someone on Steves Nova Site already discussed it last fall I see. I knew this was ringing familiar so I searched over there. It's a Buick VIN tag apparently! I didn't even look past the "69" for sedan on the tag but now that I look at it, yes, it's not an Acadian tag at all...

Run REALLY fast!

I knew that 69 is associated with a 4 door sedan but it still didn't fit in any Canadian chevy or Acadian format.  I glad someone finally identified it as Buick, I just needed to know it made sense in the GM family of vin's.

One thing I always wanted to sort out was the progression of GM vin's in Canada.  It appears in 62-63 the vin's were 9 digets, 64-?  were 10 digets, then I think the next jump was to 12 digets but I do not know the yearly progression.

here is the response from the seller    he seems to think the car is OK

On the Acadians' in 1962, the body was not verified by the vin, if you look at the trim tag it has the code 8467, which indicates an Acadian Beaumont 2-door convertible, being very rare 1 of only 1,250

Wow, it's one of one (or none) if the VIN tag doesn't identify the body....

I felt better asking ....    They are forewarned that the VIN is the actual birth certificate   not the  trim tag .......
