Help - Identify Pontiac underdash T200 8-track

Hi.

I'm hoping that someone might recognize this underdash 8 track and help me figure out what car it is from. It is a little different than most T200 types I've seen. It has a nice textured aluminum cover around the sides and bottom and a very substantial bracket on the top. I think it is Pontiac based on the knobs.

Thanks.

Any type of label on it?  To tell you the truth, I think it's a Chev unit, with Pontiac knobs.

I also see it's for a 4 speaker system.  1967 or 68 vintage I'm guessing.

Your right for the years Clint, but the Chevy 8 tracks had a bow tie on the 8 track flap.

Pontiacs for the same year were almost identical as the Chevs......some for sale on ebay.

From what I recall, the Pontiac players usually had a woodgrain faceplate, with the labelling in the woodgrain.  I think Chevy.

Thanks for the replies. There aren't any labels on it so I wasn't able to look it up anywhere. I hoped the bracket and grained aluminum housing might be recognizable to someone.

Pictures of 1967 Pontiac 8 track player.  I'm no expert but I think it is 1967 made to fit a non console car. (I tried it a while back on a console-equipped 1967 Pontiac and it interfered with the front of the console.  The front mounting bracket goes around the ashtray and screws into a couple of its mounting holes.

It looks like yours had a bracket for a different shaped dash probably a Beaumont, (just a guess)

Ken, I think you have a bench seat tape player there. The console tape player, at least on the US models fit right in to the console. I'll see if I can find a pic.
