Question on sourcing parts in Canada

Hello all! I have been tinkering away on my 60 Laurentian and have ordered some parts from RockAuto. I lucked out on the brake shoes , master cylinder and flex hose. The tie rod ends, filters and misc other goodies are a no go. I used the Belaire 4.3 US model to order. I need the tie rod ends and a water pump. Any good Canadian source for this kind of stuff? Thanks in advance!

For basic mechanical parts you should be able to get what you need from places such as NAPA and Carquest. When I had my 69 Laurentian I sourced most of my mechanical bits from these guys including brake shoes, cylinders etc. Carquest even was able to supply the unique wheel cylinders when I owned a 58 Dodge.

Both suggestions above are great places to start.

If you'd like part numbers for the tie rod ends and water pump I'm pretty sure I can help you with that.

Even Canadian Tire has some mechanical stuff (as long as you know what to ask for). Rockauto is also a very good place to look up generic part numbers and use those at your local auto parts stores. Part numbers from suppliers like Raybestos, Dorman, AC Delco, etc. can be very helpful and they also have pretty good pics.

Carl, that would be most helpful if you could. Much appreciated!

Ok, to make sure I have it right---

60 Laurentian 261, you need numbers for inner and outer tie rod ends and a water pump. At one point you mentioned filters but then after that just tie rods/water pump.

Wow! That will save me a whack of work. Thanks very much! I'm ok on the filters. It's a Fram C4 oil and I spliced an inline into the fuel line as it only had a small brass looking cone in the carb inlet. Man, you work fast. Many thanks once again!

I've got a water pump if you need one, $30 Cdn plus postage.  Casting 3736567, has the single heater hose outlet.  (I understand some have 2 heater hose outlets, the second outlet is for a heated intake manifold)

Man, I love this forum!  That looks like the beast. I'm in Didsbury; any chance I could pick it up? I see you are in Calgary.

Thanks, stuff is on order. Sorry to be a pain! Can I trouble you for the moog numbers for the idler arm and tie Rod adjuster sleeves? I really appreciate your help. :)

I am at work right now and my Moog book does not list either of those being available from them. I will look for numbers in my old Moog book at home tonight. Maybe I can come up with something there. If not, I can get the GM numbers for you then too.

Great. Can you call or text my cell 4037032987 with where and when I can pick up the pump. Sooner the better for me as I'm working with a tight timeline. Much appreciated!

Sorry, my oldest Moog book is 1995 and it has nothing listed for the sleeves or an idler.

I bought all my parts between Canadian Tire and Napa. Napa had most of the front end parts
