1968 Beaumont console

My interior code is 754 which I believe meant Gold bench seat but previous owner of my convertible added a console but the lid has a small chip out of it.  Were Chevelle consoles the same?  I did a search but didn't find any info on this issue so any help would be appreciated.  I added a general interior pic for context. I can take a close up of the console if that will help.

Have a buddy here in Quebec that has a 68 Beaumont that he bought and the previous owner - builder had put a 68 GTO 4 gear console in it.Well buddy wanted it back to auto ( original ) so he bought a 68 GTO auto console for it.I told him repeatedly that it was a Chevelle console that was suppose to be in it and he thought I was nuts.Well after the $800.00 GTO console and shifter he bought a 68 Beaumont Manual. Now it has a Chevelle console in it !

Thank you to both of you, now I know what to start looking for! I've only seen reproduction ones in black so I guess I'll need to paint it if I can't find a good used original.

If the rest of the console is in good condition I would just buy the lid.

I believe the same console lid was used in 1968 and 1969. In 1970 the lock was added to the lid. I believe the same console was used from 1968 until 1972. Someone please correct my if I am wrong.

Thanks James, mine has the lock which must mean its a 1970 version?  Could never figure out why all the 68 ones didn't have a lid.  My car was originally column shift but steering column was replaced too during the resto so it's hard to tell....except of course my 1970 lid now wink

My 68 & 69 Beaumont consoles were identical. No lock on either.
