started fiddling around with the convertible top frame. Have a question...not sure if you can see what I am talking about in the picture.
Removed the latch mechanisms. These bolt to a part via slots, which make for adjustability. On the fromt of the captive bracket is something with a bolt through it. This looks like it should move or pivot although there is what looks like a set screw to keep it in place once adjusted, so should not move.
should it always move or once moved and adjusted is locked in place using the screw which is only accessible without the top material and small tack strip piece removed. I assume I will adjust the frame movement and position then install roofing material. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, its hard to explain but I am refering to the part in front of the latch mechanism bolt. You can see its in 2 parts with a large pin and you can see the philips head screw which I think locks it in place once the roof is adjusted. The screws are hard to budge and I'm thinking it was in the correct position once so leave it alone. Although the body was removed from the chassis and put back on which may have changed things slightly.

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
Ok, worked it out...the one for the left goes the other side of the one for the right...seriously though i did. Tab on the mechanism pushes the extended part on the hook...factory ones could be used on either side, extensions both sides. Spring was a bugger to work out which way and why. Even more of a bugger getting it it in and keeping it in the correct position while installinh the hook...perseverance and naughty words seem to help....
