hi all, what is max tyre width which can be confidently used on the rears of a 65 with fender skirts (we call them spats) without scraping. No chrome trim fitted?

I have a 66 and am running a skirt on just one side (Its a long story) I'm using  255/60 15 inch BF Goodrich TA radials on the back on 7'x 15 chev rally wheels (stockers) and haven't seen any evidence of rubbing.  Pretty much stock ride height with airshocks (as i do pull a traller at times.)

I run the same size tires (255/60-15 T/A) adequate room, but no skirts

Pretty wide and don't know for sure.  May depend on the rim offset

I have run 375s previously but had to pump the guards to get them under. No chance of putting on the skirts..
