At the Rockton, Ontario car show Saturday May 7, 2016, this rare rare rare Canadian car was there. I ran into fellow C.P. member Chris Newport and we both were all over this rare gem. The owner Brian Atkinson, who is also a C.P. member was chatting with Chris and i about his wonderful automobile. Brian bought the car from the original owner, who is also a good friend of his in 2015. The car is all original except for old paint from a long time ago and the sweet L-79 presently has 98,000 miles on it. The car is very solid with minor surface rust here and there. We heard the car running and it sounded real strong. Brian plans on doing a driver restoration on the car. How often are you lucky enough to see a super rare Canadian Acadian L-79 like this one. Check out the photos. Cheers. George
Believe it was Brian I spoke to during the winter when he was searching out some parts for his car. Quite the story on how he acquired it after knowing about it for many years.

Tell you the truth, I wouldn't touch too much on it if it was mine. A good clean up, and whatever little things it needs cosmetically/mechanically.

I love it! That is a car that deserves to be done correctly if restored. With an L-79 & 4-speed the car would have come with a 3.31:1 rear ratio (3.07 if a 3-speed).
It is funny to see it fairly stripped but with J50 power brakes. I wonder if it is also a J65 Metallic Brake Shoe car? I have seen a few 66 Chevelle Malibu SS 396 cars that had manual steering and power J65 brakes; the brakes need to heat up to grip but then they didn't fade as they heated up (opposite to regular drum brakes).

Talked to Brian ;the twelve bolt is not in the car but he has it. He took it out years ago for the original owner; I think he said for towing purposes.
